SHILLONG VISIT

We started for our trip to Shillong, Cherrapunjee, Mawsynram & Guwahati from Kolkata on 19.10.2008 as previously planned. We boarded the Jetlite flight s2 361 at 06.10 a.m from NSCB airport and reached Loknath Bordoloi Airport Guwahati at 07.10 a.m. It was our son's first experience on flight. Our neighbour had told him to take a seat on the left and we managed the same while getting our boarding pass. We could catch a glime of the entire Kanchenjunga range onboard.
From Loknath Bordoloi airport we took a maruti zen and headed straight towards Shillong. The road from Guwahato to Shillong was beautiful and we had a stopover for breakfast in between. We reached Shillong around 11.30 a.m ( roughly three and half hour journey from Guwahati) and checked in at previously booked hotel Shillong Club. It is on Kachari road and very near to the heart of the town Police bazaar. That afternoon we took rest. In the evening we first booked car for local sight seeing next day. There was chill in the air. We had early dinner and went to bed at 9.00 P.M to start our trip next day at 7.00 A.M
We got up from bed at 5.30, freshened up , took bath in running hot water. Breakfast was served at 7.00 A.M dot and our car arrived at 7.30 ( 20.10.2008).
